Short story/poem: 48 pages including 14 full-page illustrations by Gary Gianni. SIGNED BY THE ARTIST. A very handsome edition.

''in the late summer of 188-, a train leaves Cairo heading across the desert...carrying an upper class assortment of Egyptians, Europeans and English men and women. Attacked by Arab bandits whose misfiring cannon-fire destroys not only the trainís fuel tender but themselves as well, the train stops dead near a small Egyptian ruin from another age. Foraging for fuel the passengers stumble upon the remains of an ancient Egyptian tombyard - and mummies become their tinder! Thus begins a ghost-story by Ray Bradbury, the last book produced while he was alive. Brought to life by artist Gary Gianni with more than twenty pen and ink drawings''.

26 Burns, Charles (& Gary Panter)Facetasm : Creepy Mix - And - Match Book of Face Mutations. 34252
Gates Of Heck: NY. 1998.
First edition (& 1st printing).
Hardcover.
Small hardcover (16cm x 16cm): ''eighteen creepy, icky, and downright weird faces by artists Charles Burns and Gary Panter have been cut up and bound into Facetasm, so you can mix and match to your heart's content, exploring more than 7,000 possible mutations. From robots to monsters to things that look like mutant rejects from some twisted Disney cartoon, the faces are strange enough before you start mixing them up, but once you begin flipping you'll be hooked. There's even a space on the back page for your own photo, so you can see what you'd look like with a new hairdo. Or fangs. Facetasm is good old-fashioned fun with a healthy dose of the avant-garde, and giving it to your kids is like inviting William Burroughs to baby-sit. A good thing'' (Simon Leake/Amazon.com)

Magazine.
All three issues published of short-lived monster movie magazine edited by Roger Elwood that also contained fiction. All three issues are very uncommon.

US letter-size saddle-stapled Cinema magazine. Publisher: Charlton Comics. Editor: Roger Elwood. Three bimonthly issues, July to November 1981.''a final attempt by Charlton at a Monster Movies magazine, this title covered such films of the period as Clash of the Titans (1981), Escape from New York (1981) and Venom (1981). It differed from most such publications in that each issue also carried several short horror stories; despite Elwood's conservative Christian bias, some interesting material was published. Fiction appeared from Steve Vance and George Zebrowski, the latter having a story in every issue. Perhaps the most notable fiction was ''The Witch of the Marsh'' (in Diogenes in London, coll 1893) by H B Marriott Watson, reprinted in no 2. Charlton was already experiencing distribution problems as the company neared the end of its existence, and as a result this magazine is now difficult to locate'' (Encyclopedia of SF, 3rd Edition).
