TERMS AND CONDITIONS PAYMENT. Payment can be by cheque or credit card (Visa, Mastercard and Switch) or sterling cheque, payable to either Andy Richards or Cold Tonnage Books. Large payments can be spread over a period of time if necessary.
CREDIT CARDS. If paying by credit card we have a secure terminal that we use to process your Credit Card Number. We currently do not process your Credit Card through the website. WE DO NOT CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD UNTIL THE BOOKS ARE IN STOCK AND PACKED UP AND ABOUT TO BE SHIPPED. When ordering forthcoming books we do not take any payment in advance - only - as I must stress again - when the book is published, in stock and being dispatched will we charge your card.
CONDITION. I have a fearsome reputation for selling fine condition, collectable books to serious (ie. fussy) collectors. Please note that FINE is my highest grading (I don't fool around with "mint", "near mint", "very fine" "very fine+" and all that nonsense). All other defects (including price-clipping and remainder spray) will be noted.
ANY BOOK CAN BE RETURNED FOR ANY REASON WITHIN FOUR WEEKS. We will give a full refund or credit, including any return postage costs incurred. But please do notify us first before returning anything.
SIGNED COPIES. One of our particular strengths is SIGNED copies - especially of British authors. Please note that when buying a SIGNED COPY from us the book will actually be signed by the author. It does NOT mean a signed bookplate or piece of paper/card laid or tipped into the book. Furthermore, if a book is inscribed (and not simply a signature) we will always say so.
POSTAGE. Postage costs are extra on all orders.
Within the UK: £8 maximum, for each shipment (up to 20 kilos):
USA: Books are sent at £3.50 per kilo.
Note: we normally need a street address for UPS Delivery.
