1 JUNGLE STORIES, (ed. Jerome Bixby)Jungle Stories Fall 1953. 40923
Glen-Kel Pub. Co.; NY. 1953 (Fall).
First edition.
Pulp Magazine.
Fall 1953 issue. 59 issues published in total between 1939 - 1954.

''essentially a character pulp; each issue featured a lead novel about Ki-Gor. This character was an imitation of Tarzan, which has caused Jungle Stories to be heavily collected by some Burroughs fans. It should be noted, however, that while some of the novels contain fantasy elements, the series as a whole is not fantasy, since Ki-Gor lacks Tarzan's ability to communicate with animals. The unusual circumstance of several Ki-Gor novels having the same titles is believed to be a side-effect of the re-use of cover paintings on which the story titles had already been engraved'' (Science Fiction, Fantasy, & Weird Fiction Magazine Index: 1890-2006: Stephen T. Miller & William G. Contento).

G/VG copy, a little tape on spine.
