Limited to 55 numbered copies. 20 page booklet: opening the ''Golden Age of Clairvoyance'' series of chapbooks by Raphus Press, MONSTERS, a visual essay by Alfred Jarry, published in L'Ymagier issue 2 in 1895. L’Ymagier was a magazine about unusual illustrations and engravings, edited by Remy de Gourmont and Alfred Jarry. Among other extraordinary artists published by this amazing journal, there are names with the stature of Henri Rousseau. In the essay, Jarry, with his personal language and style, analyzed certain pious woodblock prints produced in India and published in Calcutta almanacs. Monsters is introduced by a poetic commentary, a preamble with some narrative meditations on Jarry’s life and career, entitled ''The Impossible Man in the Cockloft at the Fifteenth Arrondissemen'', by Alcebiades Diniz Miguel.

''Raphus Press is a publishing house inspired by the private press from the turn of the nineteenth to the twentieth century, decentered - one axis in Latin America, the other in Europe - whose central focus is the translation of short-form works, little known, outside the usual canon. The translations are accompanied by unusual pieces of fiction as well as galleries of images from the public domain - this material establishes a dialogue with the translated texts, enhancing the impact of these original works on the contemporary reader.
